Ernest received his BA in English and MPhil in English (Literary Studies) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he was also the Teaching Assistant for various undergraduate literary courses. His MPhil dissertation studies the architectural imagery in William Blake and John Keats’s poems to unearth contemporary reactions to the British Industrial Revolution.
His research interests include poetry in the Romantic era, especially that of William Blake and John Keats, as well as the reception of Dante in Romanticism. In his future PhD pursuit, he would like to investigate the influence of Dante’s Inferno on Keats’s poetry.
