Programme Officer/ Assistant Programme Officer (at the rank of Research Assistant I/ Research Assistant II) in the School of English (several posts) (Ref.: 530741) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance) 

 

The Role

The appointees will provide a full spectrum of administrative and executive support at School level, including the following areas:

  • administration of postgraduate programmes, such as course enrollments, responding to students’ enquiries, collating course outlines, creating academic timetables and calendars, updating course webpages, managing programme webpages and social media accounts;
  • events management, such as coordination of international and regional academic conferences, symposia, seminars, outreach workshops and knowledge exchange events;
  • administrative support to research-related matters, such as liaison with grant applicants and grant holders, finances and creation of publicity content to promote research-related activities;
  • experience in artistic design and marketing is a plus (e.g., banners, flyers, posters and social media content).

 

Qualifications and Qualities

  • A good Bachelor’s degree, preferably with at least 1 year of relevant work experience;
  • Proficiency in Cantonese, English and Putonghua;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Highly IT literate (e.g., proficiency in Microsoft Office);
  • Excellent organization skills and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize urgent tasks;
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility;
  • Ability to work diligently, efficiently and meticulously without close supervision and under pressure;
  • A good team player who can collaborate with different internal and external stakeholders of the University.

 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.  Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Programme Officer.
