Simon Wu is restarting his creative writing journey from Harvard University, and he is now working on a queer fiction about traumatic memory. Prior to this, he has already had good creative practice and teaching experience. His film works have been recognized by many international film festivals, and he has also won the Best Youth Actor Award at the Berlin International Art Film Festival. Before joining the University of Hong Kong, he was awarded the Excellent Teacher honor from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

His recent academic article, “Dynamic Writing with A Flash of Inspiration: The Application and Future of Improvisation in Interactive Performative Writing,” won first prize in the Global Association of Chinese Creative Writing and will be published in Chinese Creative Writing Studies in 2025.

His research and creative interests focus on film, fiction, and queer culture. His teaching encourages the expression of diverse voices and creative perspectives.
