Sinead Kwok received her PhD in language and communication at the University of Hong Kong. Her research interests lie in language philosophies, sign theories – with a specific focus on integrational semiology and semiotics, linguistic theories and communication theories, together with translation. She has published papers in journals including Language Sciences, Language and Communication and Forum Linguistico, as well as a chapter with Routledge.
Sinead has been turning her PhD thesis into a book, which will examine Western translation theories and the linguistic and communication theories or philosophies which undergird them, while providing an unprecedented critique of all these theories from semiological and semiotic perspectives. Besides that, she has a book chapter on semiotics and translation currently in press and is working on a paper on philology and the written sign.
