Rin Murakami graduated from the University of Hong Kong double majoring in Language and Communication and Japanese Studies with First Class Honours. She also spent a year at the School of International Liberal Studies at Waseda University as an exchange student. Throughout her undergraduate studies, Rin developed a keen interest in sociolinguistics and multilingual communication. Her research interests centre on investigating language ideologies, family language policies, and identity construction in Hong Kong multilingual families.
