
Rin received her BA at The University of Hong Kong, majoring in Language and Communication and Japanese Studies, and her MA in Applied English Linguistics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her MA research project investigates the language experiences and identity construction of Hong Kong-Japanese mixed-heritage youths.
Her research interests centre on the intersections of language, identity, and cultural belonging in multilingual and multicultural contexts, with a particular focus on mixed-heritage individuals. In her future academic pursuits, she hopes to build on her work in mixed-heritage identity, and explore how individuals express and navigate their identities both in offline interactions and within digital spaces.
