Jennifer Eagleton is an adjunct assistant professor in the School of English. She received her BA in Asian Studies and an MA in Asian Studies from the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales respectively.
She pursued her studies in applied linguistics (MA and PhD, Macquarie University) out of her interest in seeing how “One Country, Two Systems” was discursively constructed, since arriving in Hong Kong in October 1997.
Her main linguistic interests are political discourse, metaphor studies, discourse analysis, and stylistics. Jennifer also writes creatively and has had poetry and essays published in a number of Asia-based publications.
Jennifer is currently revising a manuscript Discursive Change in Hong Kong: Socio-political Dynamics, Metaphor, and One Country, Two Systems, for Lexington Books, an imprint of Rowman & Littleman in the United States.
