Congratulations to Professor Elaine Ho, of the School of English, who was presented with a Long Service Award by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lap-Chee Tsui, at a ceremony on 11th June.


 
Long Service Awards are presented to staff members who have served the University for more than 25 years, 35 years and 40 years respectively. Awardees include teachers and professionals from various academic and support service departments. This is the 20th year that the ceremony has been held to thank senior staff members for their contributions to the University.

Professor Ho has served the University for 35 years. She has a BA and MPhil from HKU, and a PhD in English Renaissance literature from University College London. She joined the Department of English Studies and Comparative Literature in 1978, and worked for her higher degrees while a Junior Lecturer in the Deparment.

Professor Ho is a former Associate Dean and former Head of the Department of English. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
